BIO
Mary Claire Becker uses printmaking and sculpture to contemplate artificiality within media representations of Nature in industrialized societies. She lives in Greenville, SC where she serves as Assistant Professor of Printmaking at Clemson University. She holds an MFA from the University of Iowa, a Certificate of Book Arts from the UI Center for the Book, and a BFA from UNC Asheville. She has shown internationally at venues including Changsha Normal University (Changsha, Hunan, China), Manhattan Graphics Center (NY), Oklahoma Contemporary Arts Center (OK), and The Bradbury Art Museum (AR). Awards include Oklahoma State University’s 2020 Humanities, Arts and Design Grant and Central Michigan University’s 2019 Barstow Fellowship.
